Emeka Ozoani, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), has released a disclaimer concerning a report printed by certain media outfits, claiming that he is representing billionaire businessman Benedict Peters at the current proceedings in the Southwark Crown Court involving Mrs Alison-Madueke, an ex-Nigerian Minister of Petroleum.
In the disclaimer made available to newsmen, Ozoani blatantly stated that the content of the report was erroneous, full of lies, and misleading, stressing that he neither acted for nor epitomised Benedict Peters or any other person associated with the case.
Ozoani clarified that his presence in the United Kingdom was coincidental and that he attended the court proceedings out of personal interest in the high-profile case involving the former Nigerian Minister of Petroleum.
Ozoani also declared that he did not speak with or offer insight to any news man nor any media about the case or its proceedings.
The SAN then further revealed his plans to consult English lawyers to take the needed steps to address the harmful publication and safeguard himself from any extra damage caused by the speculative report.
The disclaimer, dated November 5, 2023, denied the suggestion that Ozoani had alleged to have travelled to the UK to represent Benedict Peters, stressing that any such suggestion was simply false and malicious.
