Ahmad Lawan, current Senate president has released a statement through his spokesperson, Iyke Ekeoma, that he is still an active candidate for the presidential race.
Lawan is currently running for the presidency under the All Progressive Congress. He said people should disregard the reports of him withdrawing from the presidential race and has encouraged his supporters to not be afraid as he is also working ruthlessly to become the candidate.
He also said such reports are only mischief and were insults to his position in the political world. He advised Nigerians to ignore such lies from his opponents who do not want him to achieve his goal as the next president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“The ambition to become the president of Nigeria after President Muhammadu Buhari is alive and Nigerians should be rest assured that he is in the race to win and not just to answer aspirant”.
