Senator George Akume has just been sworn-in by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Nigeria’s newly inaugurated president, as the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF.
Akume had been sworn in at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Wednesday, June 8.
Akume, the ex-Minister of Interior had taken the oath of allegiance and oath of office at about a few minutes past 11 o’clock in the morning at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa.
The swearing-in ceremony was well attended by several still serving and ex-Governors, the Vice President, Kashim Shettima and the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan.
Other dignitaries included: the Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr FolasadeYemi-Esan, and the wife of the new SGF, Mrs Regina Akume.
