The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has railed against the National Industrial Court’s judgement, which hindered organised labour from commencing any form of strike over the removal of fuel subsidy.
Recall that the NLC and Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC, had planned to begin the industrial action on Wednesday (today) after President Bola Tinubu’s declaration on May 29 that the fuel subsidy in the country was gone.
However, the strike had been suspended in the event of the recent judgement with future plans to reconvene on Monday, June 19.
But the Labour congress had in a communiqué on Tuesday, June 6, expressed disappointed over the ruling, after an emergency meeting was held by its National Executive Council, NEC, on Tuesday.
