In a compilation of discussions and negotiations that have been said to have continued for a little over 15 years, seven political parties have finally reached a concession and joined forces to fight the presently ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) party as well as the previous incumbent Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in the upcoming 2023 countrywide elections.

According to the information reel released with the aid of countless observers, the important players in the newly fashioned coalition are the Allied Political Parties and the National Consultative Front, as well as the Labour Party, all of whom have come collectively to present a single candidate for the upcoming polls.

Ms. Bello Bilikis, the Spokesperson for the National Consultative Front (NCFront) explained that the alliance was a result of several conferences between stakeholders and political bodies like the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress. The outcomes of the meetings and negotiations have been the seven parties currently part of the alliance. Namely the: New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), African Democratic Congress (ADC), Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Labour Party (LP), National Rescue Movement (NRM), Allied Peoples Movement (APM), and Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Professor Attahiru Jega of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Professor Pat Utomi of the Labour Party (LP), and Senator Saidu Dausadau of the National Rescue Movement (NRM) had been added on board to head the alliance and also to establish a Mega Electoral Alliance and field a single line of candidates consisting of supporters of the seven allied parties.

Ms. Bilikis concluded by way of saying that an inclusive Consensus Technical Committee had been developed to screen the chosen presidential candidates and would be set up someday in the subsequent month after the party’s primaries had been concluded.
