The Sokoto State Government has reassured its employees who are still awaiting their February and March salaries that the arrears would be paid today, Thursday, March 6, 2023.

Dr. Ali Inname, the State Commissioner of Finance announced during a briefing with journalists after the State Executive Council meeting, SEC where he had refuted allegations that more than 10,000 staff were yet to receive their February salaries as a false, malicious, and highly misleading statement.

According to Inname, a total of 33,320 civil servants in the state had been paid their salaries, leaving only 1,054 awaiting theirs, and the main reason for the delay in making the payments was a result of the challenges experienced by various banks where the salary of a portion of the state staff was being paid.
