Solomon Buchi Tears Son’s British Passport, Chooses Nigeria

Nigerian writer and life coach Solomon Buchi has revealed his decision to relocate permanently to Nigeria with his wife and son, stating his commitment to the nation’s progress.

In a post on X on Tuesday, Buchi explained that he had even gone as far as tearing up his son’s British passport and ordering a Nigerian one, underscoring his readiness to face any challenges for the country’s advancement.

“My wife and I have decided to move back to Nigeria. We all need to come together and build our nation. I’ve torn my son’s British passport and ordered a Nigerian passport. I’m willing to endure any hardship in Nigeria to see it work,” he wrote.

His announcement has sparked a variety of reactions online, with some praising his patriotism, while others have raised doubts about the practicality of his decision.

While many Nigerians seek better opportunities abroad due to economic instability, insecurity, and poor governance, Buchi’s decision to return sharply contrasts with the ongoing ‘japa’ trend. Some critics believe his move might be seen as an unnecessary sacrifice, while others view it as a commendable example of national loyalty.

Buchi, who is known for his candid views on social and relationship issues, has frequently used his platform to promote self-growth and national development.

Yet, his bold decision has led some to wonder whether his commitment will withstand the pressures of reality, or if he may reconsider over time.
