Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo has denied making fun of Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, over his ambition to become president.
The governor was cited by several news outlets as saying that the labor party’s efforts will be in vain and that its presidential candidate cannot prevail in the 2023 elections.
In a statement sent on Monday by his media assistant, Christian Aburime, Soludo denied the report and stated the statement that was attributed to him was completely untrue and unsupported.
Aburime claimed that the report was a complete fabrication of the address given by Governor Soludo to an audience following his media interview about his first 100 days in office.
He noted that the claim was an effort by certain misguided individuals to sour Peter Obi’s relationship with the party leadership.
Therefore, Aburime desires to warn anyone who wishes to cause trouble by disseminating incorrect and misleading information to cease doing so.
Additionally, the spokesperson pleaded with the public to ignore the entire statement because Governor Soludo did not make it.
