The governors of the six states in the southwest geo-political zone which includes, Lagos, Oyo, Ekiti, Osun, Ondo, and Ogun State, have come out to address the security issues in the state, citing the increased entry of Okada riders into the states.
This message was passed in an 8-point official communication issued and signed by the South-West Governors after their virtual meeting held on Friday,10th of June, 2022,
They had boldly criticized the gunmen’s attack and killings at the Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo state. Because of this, they had also announced three days of mourning for the victims of the attack from the 13th of June to the 15th of June, 2022.
All the Governors have been directed to fly their Flags at Half Mast in all public buildings, facilities, and official residences all over the South West States in other to honor and mourn the victims of the Owo terror attack.
The Governors also pledged their support to the federal government to continue to aid the security agencies in crisis management.
They had agreed in the meeting to meet physically to discuss more on the security challenges the southwest states were facing.
