Omoyele Sowore, the 2023 Africa Action Congress presidential candidate, joined protesters at the Ikeja Underbridge in Lagos today. This is happening as the #EndBadGovernance protests start again on Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day.
The protests which initially began on August 1 and went on for 10 days, were suspended and resumed today. Demonstrators are upset about the country’s economic problems, like high costs of living, hunger, joblessness, and not enough good education.
Sowore showed up at the protest ground, where people were singing together and carrying placard. The protest is calm, and there are security officers around.
Nigeria’s economic troubles have made many people unhappy, prompting them to demand quick solution from the government.
