Ceaser Azpilicueta, Spain’s Defender has stated that their major focus is to win their match against Morocco in round 16 of the game at the 2022 world cup.
If we can recall, Morocco defeated Canada 2-1 in their final group game to qualify for the Knockout stages in the world cup, a feat which they last achieved in 1986. The 2010 world cup winner, Spain was defeated by Japan in their final group game.
According to Azpilicueta, the major thing was to qualify for the knockout stages. He further admitted that the Moroccan team is a formidable force, so their major focus is to hear the team.
He also added that they desired to win all their group games, but despite their loss to Japan they’ll try to see that they overcome Morocco.
“The important thing was to qualify for the round of 16,” said Azpilicueta. “We know that in a World Cup there are always times when you have to know how to manage when you are winning or losing. Sometimes it is difficult to manage and this has to serve us in the future.
“Morocco is a team that deserves to be there after competing with teams of the level of Croatia and Belgium.
“We would have liked to win all three games and pass as first because that is our philosophy. You have to have maximum confidence in this group, raise your head, and recover.”
