Nigerian musicians raked in more than N60 billion in revenue from Spotify in 2025, according to the streaming platform’s annual report released on Monday.
The report highlighted a remarkable growth in earnings for Nigerian artists, showing a 140% increase in revenue over the past two years.
Independent artists and labels accounted for approximately 58% of all royalties generated by Nigerian talent on the platform during the year.

Spotify’s data revealed that Nigerian artists amassed 30.3 billion streams and 1.6 billion listening hours in 2025. Streams from female Nigerian artists also experienced significant growth, rising by 55% during the year.
The report further noted the global reach of Nigerian music, with the country’s artists appearing in nearly 320 million playlists worldwide and over 12 million playlists in Nigeria alone.
In total, more than 60 million playlists featuring Nigerian artists were created on Spotify during the year, underscoring the global appeal of Nigeria’s music industry.
