University Students in the country, under the banner of the National Association of Nigerian Students -NANS, for the South-West zone, had blocked the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway as they were protesting the ASUU strike.
The students had gathered at the Sagamu interchange as early as 9 am on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, after which both sides of the highway had been blocked thereby preventing traffic flow both in and outside Lagos.
A lot of road users had been trapped and commercial activities were grounded during the protest.
The protesters were led by the NANS Vice President, External Affairs, the Public Relations Officer; Zone D Coordinator, Deputy Senate President, Ondo JCC Chairman, Lagos JCC Chairman, Ogun JCC Chairman, and Oyo JCC Chairman.
