Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto has advised Nigerians to accept the natural disasters in the country in good faith and also take it as a ‘God-ordained’ fate; as nothing happens without God’s knowledge.
The Sultan made his opinion known on Saturday, November 12 during the coronation and presentation of the staff of office to Farouq Umar, who is the 12th Emir of Katagum, located in Azare, Bauchi State.
The Sultan had said: “We are also here to sympathize with our fellow brothers and sisters who have died or been affected by the recent floods in the country.
“I want Nigerians to accept these recent natural disasters in good faith and see them as ordained by God. They should note that there is nothing one can do in such a situation than to accept whatever happens in good faith and hope for the best.
“Additionally,” The Sultan continued, “Nigerians should pray against the recurrence of flood and other natural disasters in the country,” he added.
