The Supreme Court of Nigeria has just adjourned the case filed by 10 Nigerian State Governments on the naira swap policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, to Wednesday, February 22 for hearing.
The apex court, filled to the capacity with distinguished guests such as Senior Advocates of Nigeria, other lawyers, and the governors of Kaduna and Kogi states, Nasir El-Rufai and Yahaya Bello, listened to the case on Wednesday, 15 February.
Recall that at the last hearing, the Court had temporarily banned the implementation of the February 10 old naira note deadline. Zamfara, Kogi, and Kaduna states had instituted the suit against the Federal Government and the CBN after which the other states: Niger, Kano, Ondo, and Ekiti, had also applied to be joined in the suit against the CBN and the Federal Government.
