Police officials in Lagos State have apprehended three gang members of a syndicate that specializes in robbing unsuspecting passengers in commercial vehicles in the state.
The spokesman for the state police command, Benjamin Hundeyin, has already confirmed the arrest via a statement on Saturday, October 1, 2022.
The suspects listed were: Abiodun Bamidele, aged 48, Olumide Faleye aged 45, and Toyin Adekoya aged 49.
According to Hundeyin, the suspects, him, were arrested at 10.30 a.m. on Friday, September 30, at Omole Estate, Phase 1, after the suspects’ victim raised an alarm.
Hundeyin said: “The suspects’ mode of operation was to cruise in a Toyota Camry car, with registration number KSF 608 GH, and disguise themselves as driver and passengers.
Afterwhich they would pick up unsuspecting passengers and begin discussions about some cash (dollars) allegedly kept in the boot of the car.
Finally, Benjamin Hundeyin concluded the statement by reporting that the suspects had been arraigned in court, since their arrest.
