A tanker explosion in Maitama, Abuja, has caused widespread panic and left many injured. The tanker, carrying fuel, exploded after tipping over, affecting passengers in nearby commercial vehicles.

The incident occurred along Shehu Shagari Way, resulting in significant traffic gridlock in the area. Eyewitnesses report that emergency responders arrived quickly, and local hospitals were alerted to care for the injured.

This unfortunate event highlights the dangers of fuel tankers traveling alongside other vehicles. While the cause of the explosion remains unclear, it is crucial to prioritize safety. The truck driver reportedly fled the scene after the tanker tipped over, exacerbating the situation in this busy part of the federal capital.
