Ashfa Ibrahim, a 14-year-old boy, had on Monday, 13 February, drowned in an open stream at Danzaki Village in Gezawa LGA, Kano state.
Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, the spokesperson of the state Fire Fighting department confirmed the incident in a statement made available to newsmen in Kano on Tuesday, 14 February.
According to the statement, the incident had occurred on Monday, February 13 afternoon and according to Abdullahi, the victim slipped and fell into the open water, sustaining various injuries on his body.
The teenage boy’s corpse has been handed over to the ward head of Danzaki Village, Muhammed Abdulkarim, for onward delivery to the parent of the deceased for burial and the Police have been tasked to ascertain the cause of the incident to take proper action.
