Temilade Openiyi, the Grammy-winning Nigerian singer-songwriter, popularly known by her stage name, Tems, is all set to make history at the 2024 Billboard Women In Music Event.
The ‘Essence’ crooner has been named as the beneficiary of the Breakthrough Award Honor at this year’s Women In Music Awards, making her the first-ever Nigerian honoree, a great feat.
Billboard had on Wednesday, January 24, announced the honorees for the 2024 Women In Music Awards.
Other recipients for other awards at the event include Kylie Minogue (Icon Award Honoree), Ice Spice (Hitmaker Award Honoree), Victoria Monét (Rising Star Award Honoree), and Young Miko (Impact Award Honoree).
Billboard has said that presenters, performers, and additional honorees will be duly announced in the following weeks.
The 2024 Billboard Women In Music Event will be taking place at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California, on March 6, 2024.
