The Nigerian government has just revealed that there are only eight Benin Republic and Togo-authorized Universities for Nigerian students.
Tahir Mamman, the Minister of Education had made this disclosure during a Channels Television Interview on Sunday.
Mamman’s announcement is coming after he said last week said that degree certificates from Cotonou University in the Benin Republic issued between 2017 to date would be rendered invalid.
The policy change had been made amid the investigative report where a Nigerian journalist acquired a degree from a university in the Benin Republic in just two months and used it to get deployed for the National Youth Service Corps.
However, with this new development, Mamman had listed the approved public universities and federal government-approved institutions qualified to offer degree programs in Togo for students from Nigeria.
They include:
1. Universite De Lome
2. Universite De Kara
3. Catholic University of West Africa
For Benin, only theses universities are recognised for Nigerian students:
1. Universite D’abomey-Calavi
2. Universite De Parakou
3. Universite Nationale Des Sciences, Technology Ingénierie Et Mathématiques
4. Université Nationale D’ Agriculture and
5. Universite Africaine De Devlopment Cooperatif
