At the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, as well as some courier services, illegal drugs were being transported to the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, New Zealand, and Cyprus.
The NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, stated in a statement that at least three traders at the Trade Fair Complex in the Ojo neighborhood of Lagos had been detained.
Nwudele Christopher, Chiedu Francis, and Donatus Nwojiji, according to Babafemi, were detained in connection with attempts to export 52.10 kilograms of ephedrine, a precursor chemical and an ingredient in the production of methamphetamine, which was thwarted at the SAHCO export shed of the Lagos airport on Sunday, January 31 and Monday, February 1. The drug was concealed in bundles of fishing threads and packed in a jumbo sack
He continued by saying that the intricate method of the illegal substance’s concealment required the careful efforts of NDLEA personnel and the use of sniffer dogs.
