Season 4 of Just Us Girls continues to deliver drama and unexpected twists, and Episode 4, titled Last Straw, puts Koyin firmly in the spotlight.

A quick recap: In Episode 3 (Karibu – Welcome), the girls arrived in Kenya for the Just Us Girl conference. Ife tried reaching Koyin, worried since she hadn’t been answering her mother’s calls. The group rallied around her, concerned for both Ife and her unborn child. Koyin confessed how much she missed campus life and admitted her struggles with the man whose child she was carrying, feeling uncertain about their future. Ameh’s blunt question, “Why did you do it?” nearly sparked tension among the friends, as it wasn’t the right moment to assign blame.

Episode 4, however, belongs to Koyin. She truly shines, coming into her own and standing her ground in ways that are both surprising and powerful. Even Jite, who is rarely impressed, acknowledged that Koyin had pushed her mother, Chief Doctor, to her breaking point. The episode paints a vivid picture of the pain Koyin has endured—growing up trying to please a parent who never recognized her efforts or allowed her freedom, even going so far as to deny her identity.

The storyline takes another twist with Minister Funke’s prophecy. Initially thought to apply to Muna, it now hints at something bigger for Koyin, showing the writers’ skill in keeping the audience on edge. The story also leaves lingering questions, particularly about Koyin’s real father and why her mother abandoned her first marriage—truths she deserves to uncover.

On a brighter note, Koyin finally discovers a sense of family and support, allowing her to break free from her mother’s oppressive control. Her growing bond with someone she trusts provides hope for her future and a healthier space to thrive.

As the season progresses, it’s hard to believe this is the final episode. After all Koyin has endured, she shouldn’t be left in pain, nor forced back into the residency programme that doesn’t reflect her dreams. Something has to change, and fans are eager to see her reclaim her life.
