The national leadership of the Labour Party, LP, has reacted to a few state chairpersons that have been threatening to abandon the political party over logistics funds.
According to Sani Abdulsalam, the Gombe LP chair, during a media briefing on Thursday, February 23 had said that they (the state chairmen) did not believe Obi could win because he was “not ready” and “is ill-prepared for the presidential race”.
Meanwhile, in a reaction to the development in a chat with TheCable, Yunusa Tanko, the spokesperson of the LP presidential campaign council, claimed that there was no issue of sidelining as purported.
He had explained that the party’s focus was on individuals voting with their conscience rather than expecting cash in exchange for their support.
