In yesterday’s game against the Moroccan Atlas Lionesses, things didn’t go as planned. The Super Falcons were defeated 5-4. Hon Sunday Dare praised the Super Falcons for their performance at the game yesterday, although despite losing the game it’s fair to say the Super Falcons put up a good front.

“Your resilience, character, and management of the game must be commended. I salute your tenacity, dedication, and fighting spirit. By holding the Moroccans in front of over 45,000 spectators, you have once again shown the attitude of a true Nigerian, never to die.

“It was a game I followed very closely and I’m so proud that you showed the Nigerian spirit. I’m proud of this team, even if they lost.”

Super Falcons were eliminated from the finals after losing to Morocco. That wasn’t what was expected as we’ve never failed to qualify for the finals of the WAFCON games for years. Still, we’re proud of our girls because they gave Morocco a tough time in the second half with just nine players. Our girls showed true sportsmanship
