Reports came out yesterday, that PSG’S Forward Mbappe desires to leave the club after penning a 3-year agreement with PSG in May, making him the highest-paid player in the world.
Reports also have it that his grievance comes from the fact that he plays as a lone striker without much support from the attack, even though the club promised to look into it, nothing has been done.
France Legend, Thierry Henry has berated Mbappe for feeling like he’s better than the whole club.
According to him, the fact that Mbappe does not like the position he plays doesn’t mean he should grumble, so long he can do it, he should do it as a sign of respect to the club. The problem with Mbappe is that the club has pampered him too much, and he now feels he’s bigger than the entire club.
He also recounted his floorball experience, when he was at Barca he never liked the position he played but he did it out of respect for the club. Even in France, they placed him in a position that doesn’t befit his status, yet he still didn’t complain
*No one likes to be exposed to what you’re not good at,” Henry said on CBS Sports.
“You just don’t like it. But there is something bigger than anything else and that is the club.
“But did they make him feel like the club was the most important thing or did they make him feel like he was more important than the club?
“I will use my own stories. I didn’t like to play out high and wide for Barcelona. I hated it! But I did it for the team.
“I didn’t like it after a hundred caps and I don’t know how many goals I scored for France, I had to play on the left. I didn’t hear anyone say, ‘Oh, what a nice gesture!’ to go on the left instead of players who had fewer goals and fewer caps.
He also added that every respectful player will try to respect their manager.
“There is only one rule: if the boss asks you to do something, you do it, IF it’s good for the team! If it’s bad for the team, I would get the argument.”
