Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea’s head coach, is fired

Thomas Tuchel has been fired as Chelsea’s head coach after six Premier League games.

Later on Wednesday, Chelsea is anticipated to ask Brighton for permission to interview with Graham Potter about their open manager position. Chelsea is also eager to chat with unemployed coaches Mauricio Pochettino and Zinedine Zidane.

Three months after completing his ownership of the club, Todd Boehly fired Tuchel. Boehly is still serving in that capacity despite replacing Roman Abramovich’s era’s director Marina Granovskaia, chairman Bruce Buck, and technical and performance advisor Petr Cech this summer.

Tuchel played his 100th game for Chelsea since joining the team in January 2021, but they fell to Dinamo Zagreb 1-0 in their opening Champions League group matchup on Tuesday night.
