Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher referred to Tuchel as one of the best managers in Europe.
The season hasn’t been all great for Chelsea, because they lost their last match with Southampton, making them 10th in the premier league table with 7 points. Considering the amount they’ve spent in the transfer market this season, their purchase of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona summed up their total spending to €278.4m making them the club with the highest spending in just a single window.
According to Carragher, he is not surprised with the amount they’ve spent, as they are a top club. Carragher further added that he’s very happy with the change of ownership of the club, as the previous owner, Abramovich was ruthless with Managers.
“Yes, that is the name of the game for any top club, and that has always been the situation at Chelsea.”
“It will be interesting to see if the change in ownership changes how ruthless the club was with managers under Roman Abramovich.”
Carragher, see Tuchel as one of the best managers in Europe, and probably it might look tough for Tuchel but he’ll get through it since he’s a champions league winner.
“But, for me, Thomas Tuchel is one of the best managers in Europe, he’s a Champions League winner, and right now in the Premier League, it’s been tough competing with Manchester City and Liverpool.
Justifying Chelsea’s spending, Carragher said, that the quest to find notable defenders to strengthen Chelsea’s defense made them go into the market to get these players at a high price.
“Chelsea did need a rejig at center-back given the players they lost, so you can understand why they have had to go into the market. But there is no doubt they have paid big money for some of the players.”
