A tragic road accident along the Onipepeye axis of the Abeokuta-Sagamu Expressway in Ogun State has claimed three lives, leaving seven others with serious injuries.
The crash occurred on Saturday evening at about 5:40 pm and involved a Sino truck and an Opel passenger car.
Confirming the incident, the Ogun State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi, attributed the collision to excessive speed and loss of control.

He said, “The incident, which occurred at approximately 5:40 PM, involved a Sino truck and an Opel passenger car. FRSC rescue teams from the Sector Command responded within seven minutes of the report, arriving at the scene by 5:52 PM.
“Total Persons Involved: 10 (4 Adult Males, 3 Adult Females, 2 Female Children, 1 Male Child). Total Injured: 7 (3 Adult Females, 1 Female Child, 3 Adult Males). Total Fatalities: 3 (2 Adult Males, 1 Female Child).”
According to him, the injured victims were quickly evacuated to State Hospital, Ijaye, where they are currently receiving treatment, while the deceased were deposited at the hospital’s mortuary.
Ogunjobi cautioned motorists against reckless driving, urging them to obey speed limits and ensure their vehicles are properly maintained to avoid preventable accidents.
