TikTok sensation Peller has opened up about his frustration with a massive tax bill reportedly imposed on him by the Lagos State Government.
During a livestream chat with singer Peruzzi, Peller revealed that the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service demanded he pay a staggering N36 million in income tax — a sum he says he cannot afford.
“Taskforce said I should pay N36 million for tax. I don’t have anything. I just came into the limelight last year,” Peller lamented.
Peruzzi challenged Peller on why he had not settled his tax obligations, reminding him, “Why haven’t you paid your taxes? Do you know you’re supposed to pay tax as a Nigerian? Do you know how much I pay as tax? I won’t mention it here but it’s more than the tax bill they gave you.”
The singer advised Peller to pay up quickly to avoid possible jail time.
But Peller described the amount as outrageous and insisted the government has never supported him, despite his public TikTok earnings and showcasing his lifestyle online.
He also claimed that authorities might be targeting him because he flaunted his wealth on social media.
While Peruzzi suggested Peller request more time to resolve the issue, Peller maintained that his income is from social media platforms outside Nigeria and expressed frustration with the tax demand.
