Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson has secured the release of TikTok creator Eedie Bliss after withdrawing all charges against her.
Eedie Bliss regained her freedom on Saturday, January 17, 2026, following mounting public pressure on social media.
The decision came hours after prominent social media critic VeryDarkMan publicly criticized the actress, accusing her of oppression and highlighting that defamation is a civil matter, not a criminal offence. VeryDarkMan, joining others in demanding Eedie Bliss’ release, also issued an ultimatum to Mercy Johnson.

Moments later, VeryDarkMan announced the TikTok creator’s release on Instagram. He wrote: “@MercyJohnsonOkojie, thank you very much, my GREATEST OF ALL TIME, for dropping the case. Moving on, I am buying all defamation cases against Mercy Johnson and her family. The bullying is too much. You all should leave her family alone.”
According to reports, Eedie Bliss was arrested days earlier over a TikTok video she shared in December 2025, which involved Mercy Johnson and her husband, Prince Henry Okojie.
In the controversial video, the TikToker alleged that Prince Okojie had recently purchased a house for a pregnant mistress. Quoting blogger Cutie Juls, she further claimed that the actress allegedly conspired with the mistress’s house help to cause a miscarriage.
