Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber thinks that winning the EFL Cup might offer the perfect opportunity to continue an even more successful campaign as the Gunners are on the verge of getting a trophy under Mikel Arteta.
The north London side are only one game away from ending a six-year wait for a major trophy after eliminating Chelsea at the Emirates on Tuesday to secure a place in the final next month at Wembley.

Arsenal’s success is not just limited to domestic cups, as Arteta’s players are also six points ahead of the Premier League, having gone through to the Champions League last 16 with a perfect league-phase record. Besides, they will face League One outfit Wigan Athletic in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
After the semi-final triumph, Timber disclosed that winning the Carabao Cup could be a strong push for the team. “We placed ourselves very well,” he mentioned. “The final is early, so it can be a source of motivation and confidence for the other competitions.”Kai Havertz confirmed Arsenal’s presence in the final with a goal in injury time against Chelsea, his former club, thus furthering his excellent comeback from an injury. Timber lauded the German’s impact by pointing out his presence and personality in the team.
Saturday will see Arsenal going head-to-head with Sunderland in the Premier League at home, and a win might increase the gap between the Gunners and Manchester City to nine points.
