The Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh was invited by the Nigeria Police Force on Friday as they accused her of cyberbullying, criminal defamation, and forgery. The invitation was made through a letter signed by the IGP monitoring unit by the Head of the Unit, Assistant Commissioner of Police A. A. Elleman, which was sent on the 5th of August, 2024. He said that Dikeh’s name has been implicated in the probe, making it imperative for her to clear her name on the allegations.
The police invitation summoned Dikeh to report at Force Headquarters Abuja on 7th August 2024. It was further revealed and affirmed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, that the actress was invited to come and explain herself over a petition written against her. Adejobi further stated that the invitation was made as a result of the instructions from the Inspector General of Police.
After the interview, Dikeh was released and the police continue with the investigation process. The police noted that she is very important to them as they continue to investigate the case.
