Tottenham Hotspur announced on Saturday that they have signed English striker Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth for £65 million. The 26-year-old striker signed with Spurs until 2030.
The deal is reportedly an initial £55m with a further £10m in performance-related add-ons. Solanke is Tottenham’s fourth signing of the summer following Yang Min-hyuk, Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray to their ranks.
Solanke enjoyed a fine year at Bournemouth as he scored 19 goals in the Premier League – the fourth most in the league – while across all competitions, he managed 21 in 42.
Liverpool, his former club, who sold him to Bournemouth in 2019 for £19 million, are set to make money from the deal. The Reds are said to have a 20% sell-on clause regarding any profit that Bournemouth makes from Solanke’s sale.
The transfer of Solanke to Tottenham is described as a big plus for the hosts as they prepare for the new season. He brings along Premier League experience and a fine goalscoring record into the Spurs lineup.
