The Washington state authorities had on Monday, said that five people were killed in a shooting at a home near Seattle and that a 15-year-old boy has been arrested for the killings.
The King County Sheriff’s department had said in a statement that three children and two adults were killed, with a girl who lived in the house sustaining injuries.
The spokesperson for the Sheriff’s department, Mike Mellis informed reporters at the scene that the suspect was taken into custody by deputies without incident.
At the time of filing this report, it is not immediately made clear if all those involved were members of the same family, but the sheriff’s department has made assurances that it was still working to determine a motive for the violence.
The sheriff’s department reported that deputies responded to multiple calls about gunfire at a home in Fall City, about 10 miles east of Seattle, on Monday morning.
A neighbor “with some medical training was able to administer first aid before first responders arrived,” the department added.
The boy taken into custody was booked at the King County juvenile detention facility and is expected to appear in court for the first time on Tuesday or Wednesday, the sheriff’s department finished.
