In his first post on Truth Social since his inauguration, US President Donald Trump announced early Tuesday the dismissal of four senior government officials appointed by his predecessor. Trump also warned that “over a thousand more” appointees face imminent removal as part of his administration’s efforts to realign government leadership.

Trump Targets Appointees from Previous Administration

“My Presidential Personnel Office is actively in the process of identifying and removing over a thousand Presidential Appointees from the previous Administration, who are not aligned with our vision to Make America Great Again,” Trump wrote.

He named four officials targeted for immediate dismissal:

  • Jose Andres from the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition
  • Mark Milley from the National Infrastructure Advisory Council
  • Brian Hook from the Wilson Center for Scholars
  • Keisha Lance Bottoms from the President’s Export Council

“Let this serve as Official Notice of Dismissal for these 4 individuals, with many more, coming soon,” the post concluded.

Trump punctuated the announcement with his signature catchphrase from The Apprentice: “YOU’RE FIRED!”

Broader Changes on the Horizon

The dismissals come as part of Trump’s larger agenda to overhaul the federal government. During his campaign, Trump promised to slash the civil service, improve efficiency, and even consider shutting down certain government departments.

Many government institutions are now bracing for significant changes in the days and weeks ahead as Trump begins implementing these sweeping reforms.

Bottom Line

The president’s actions signal an aggressive start to his administration, with major implications for the structure and function of the federal government. As Trump moves to reshape leadership and bureaucracy, the fallout from these changes is likely to spark debate and resistance from those affected.
