Trump Phone Buyers Face Nightmare: $59 Million Collected, Zero Phones Shipped

It was supposed to be the ultimate patriotic gadget. A smartphone “Made in America.” A bold statement of support for the former president. The price of loyalty? A $100 deposit for the Trump-branded T1 phone.

Nearly 600,000 supporters paid up. That is roughly $59 million in deposits. Now, eleven months later, not a single phone has shipped. And the company has quietly changed its terms to say there is no guarantee the phone will ever be made or sold.

MAGA supporters are melting down. Emails confirm they may never get their phones — or even their deposits back.

The Promise

Trump Mobile launched the T1 phone with great fanfare in June 2025. An event in Palm Beach featured Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump. The price was set at $499. The phone was marketed as “American-made” with a powerful Android operating system and, of course, an American flag motif.

Customers were asked to pay a $100 deposit. The estimated number of people who paid? Around 590,000 to 600,000, according to multiple social media posts tracking the situation. Simple math: 600,000 multiplied by $100 equals $60 million in deposits. The company collected a staggering amount of money — and delivered nothing.

The first shipping date was promised for summer 2025. Then it was pushed to late summer. Then it was pushed to the first quarter of 2026. Then the delivery date disappeared from the website entirely. Excuses ranged from “certification delays” to unspecified logistical problems.

The Fine Print Changes

Sometime in April 2026, Trump Mobile updated its terms and conditions. The new language is devastating for anyone who placed a deposit. According to the updated terms, the deposit is conditional. The company no longer guarantees the phone will ever be produced or sold. Customers can still request a refund — but the terms do not guarantee that refunds will be honored.

Christopher Webb, a user on X, summed up the situation: “MAGA is melting down after buyers got an email confirming they will never get their Trump Phones, or even get their deposits back. An estimated 590,000 people reportedly paid a $100 deposit each, roughly $59 million collected, and not a single confirmed customer has received a phone.”

Another X account, Republicans against Trump, added: “Around 600,000 people paid $100 deposits for the Trump-branded T1 phone, but not a single device has shipped despite multiple promised delivery dates. Trump Mobile has now updated its terms to say there’s no guarantee the phone will ever be made or sold.”

The Mystery of the Phone Itself

Details about the T1 phone remain murky. Reports indicate the device looks similar to existing Chinese smartphone models. The “American-made” claim appears to refer to final assembly in Miami, not complete domestic manufacturing. The phone reportedly received PTCRB certification — a technical approval required for cellular devices — in March 2026, suggesting some progress behind the scenes.

But certification is not production. And production is not shipment. Eleven months after deposits were collected, no confirmed customer has received a single unit.

The company has not issued a public statement explaining the delays. The Trump family has not commented. The official website still lists the phone, but delivery dates have vanished. Customers who email customer service receive automated replies — or no reply at all.

The Fallout

The situation is a public relations disaster for the Trump brand. Supporters who paid $100 in good faith — many of them working-class voters who saw the phone as both a political statement and a useful device — are now wondering if they have been scammed.

Social media is filled with angry posts. Screenshots of emails from Trump Mobile are circulating, with some customers claiming they were told refunds are not guaranteed because the deposit was “conditional.” Others say they have been unable to get any response from the company at all.

The figure of $59 million to $60 million in unfulfilled deposits is staggering. If even half of those customers demand refunds, the company would need to return $30 million. Whether that money is still available is an open question.

The Bottom Line

Nearly 600,000 people paid $100 deposits for the Trump-branded T1 smartphone, which was announced in June 2025 with great fanfare. Eleven months later, not a single phone has shipped. Delivery dates have been repeatedly pushed back and then removed from the website entirely. The company has updated its terms to say there is no guarantee the phone will ever be produced or sold, and refunds are not guaranteed.

An estimated $59 million to $60 million in deposits has been collected. Customers are reporting emails confirming they will never receive their phones — or their money back. The Trump family has not commented. The company has not explained. And thousands of supporters are left wondering whether their loyalty was rewarded — or exploited.
