Turkey’s May 14 Elections Is Still on Regardless of Earthquake— President Erdogan

Turkey President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan had on Wednesday, March 1, ruled out any possible delay in the nation’s elections after the devastating earthquake in February and had remarked that the vote would be held on May 14.

According to President Erdogan, while addressing his lawmakers in the parliament in Ankara

“Turkish people will do the needful on May 14,” 

The Turkish leader had prior announced holding the crunch elections on May 14 which may see him (Erdogan) keep his Islamic-rooted government in power until the next election in 2028.
