At Sunday night’s 30th MTV Europe Music Awards in Manchester, South African singer, Tyla stole the show when she clinched three major trophies. The rising star claimed the Best Afrobeats Artist award, she won against heavyweights such as Burna Boy, Rema, and Tems of Nigeria. Tyla took home the Best African Act title from other top African artists who included Ayra Starr and Asake.

With a sparkling performance, Tyla took home her third Best R&B Artist award, edging out international acts such as SZA and Usher. She closed out her winning night with an acoustic delivery of her hit single “Water”. Nigeria’s Ayra Starr lost all four nominations, but the night was indeed Tyla’s, and her accomplishments were nothing short of astounding.
