Tyson Fury is on track to make a stunning return to boxing, having scheduled a Riyadh Season event in 2026 to take place in the ring. Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, stated on social media that the former heavyweight champion has re-affirmed his intention to fight.
“The ‘Gypsy King’ will be back!” wrote Alalshikh, posting with Fury and advising his followers of a major surprise. Discussing this topic on his social media, 36-year-old Fury said: “Let’s see what 2025 brings,” accompanied by money and party emojis.
Fury stepped away from boxing in January 2025 after being defeated twice in a row by Oleksandr Usyk. At this point in time, he seems very eager to compensate for the defeat. While in Istanbul, he said: “Usyk — that’s the one I want. I want my revenge in England.”
Should there be no opportunity to conduct a third battle with Usyk, then Fury indicated that fighting Anthony Joshua would be “the biggest British fight that will ever happen.” Promoting the idea of a possible Usyk trilogy at Wembley in April 2026 has already been done.
