Tyson Fury has offered and expressed his thoughts after the tragic car accident in Nigeria that brought about two deaths of close members of Anthony Joshua’s team, with the former heavyweight champion also getting injured in the process.
The tragic incident happened along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in southwest Nigeria on Monday morning as Joshua was travelling with his team members. His promoter confirmed the death of two close associates, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele, in the accident. whereas Joshua was hospitalized for medical checks and treatment. It was later confirmed that he is in a stable condition and still under observation.

Fury, who was in a rumour about a potential comeback from retirement to fight Joshua in a much-anticipated ‘Battle of Britain’ match, expressed his sympathies through Instagram, where he wrote: “This is so sad. May God give them a good bed in heaven.”
The world of boxing was filled with tributes, too. Jake Paul, who was defeated by Joshua in Miami not long ago, commented that “life is much more important than boxing,” whereas the former heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko showed his sadness and conveyed his support to Joshua and his family.
The Nigerian Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) informed that the accident occurred at about 11:00 am local time and pointed to an overtaking manoeuvre at high speed as a potential cause of the crash, while a witness challenged some aspects of the statement.
Ayodele was one of Joshua’s trainers, while Ghami was his strength and conditioning coach.
