Ukraine has launched a significant attack into Russia, with the assistance of Ukrainian troops into, in what has now come to be known as its biggest and most solemn incursion into the country since Moscow’s full-scale invasion kicked off in February 2022.
According to a Ukrainian official, a considerable Ukrainian force, bolstered with armored vehicles were seen appearing to advance across the border into Russia’s Kursk region on Tuesday.
The report had also been corroborated by unofficial Russian sources, although the exact details of the advancement are still unclear at press time.
Meanwhile, going by the reports of pro-Kremlin Russian military bloggers, the Ukrainian troops have reportedly captured a several villages in the border area, advancing about 15 kilometers inside Russia, with heavy fighting reported to be persisting for a second day.
Given the development, Russian President Vladimir Putin, called for an urgent meeting on Wednesday morning with his government and defense leadership.
Concurrently, the local authorities have reported that thousands of Russian civilians were being evacuated away from the conflict.

With this move, Ukraine could disrupt the military operations and supply lines in Kursk, and environs, negatively affecting the Russians.
