Professor Oluwadare Ojo of the University of Lagos has lamented the present security situation in Nigeria, expressing that the insecurity was every citizens’s business.
Delivering a lecture tagged: “Security Awareness and Consciousness as a Catalyst for Effective and Efficient Security in Kwara State” the University Don cautioned those in attendance, stating that the federal government could not tackle the crises it alone.
Professor Ojo had said:
“We all should take into awareness, the fact that our government and the security agencies cannot solve it alone, the issue of safety in Kwara state and Nigeria at large is the responsibility of both you and I.”
Prof. Ojo had then gone further to state that, “There was no 100% security in all nations of the world.”
It is of vital importance that every individual, organizations, companies and its counterpart should be conscious of their environment’s security” he started.
Professor Ojo had also explained that unemployment, illiteracy, as well as penetrable borders, and lavish lifestyles were constituting to some of the sources of insecurity in the country.
In recognisance of Ojo’s his speech, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, represented by Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, had lauded the lecture as timely, while remarking that security challenges in the state and in the country too were at all time high.
