Professor Wahab Egbewole, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, has announced that the institution will not be shutting down its academic activities for the forthcoming general elections commencing February 25.
But he had, however, revealed that students and staff would not be disenfranchised as the university had built a program where in his words, ‘students could attend virtual classes and vote’ irrespective of their location.
The VC who had disclosed while taking questions from newsmen during his maiden media parley on Wednesday, February 1, had also added that the management of the university had curated the school’s academic programs to ensure that all the lost academic calendars to the 8 months strike embarked upon by ASUU in February 2022 will be recovered at least by October while a new academic session starts in August of this year, 2023.
