Mary Beth Leonard, the United States Ambassador to Nigeria, has warned the Nigerian government, politicians, and Nigerian citizens in general to avoid any form of action that will compromise Nigeria’s democracy.
In Leonard’s farewell speech on Monday, March 27, she called on individuals not satisfied with the outcome of the 2023 general elections to seek redress from the country’s judicial platforms and get justice.
It was additionally reported that Leonard had recently met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where she declared her happiness with the progress made in Nigeria-US relations in the last three and half years of his administration.
