Experts have weighed in on the report, with Olu Sonola of Fitch Ratings calling it “unequivocally a good report.” Paul Krugman, a Nobel Prize-winning economist, noted that “inflation has basically been defeated.” Mark Hamrick, senior economic analyst at Bankrate, cautioned that “May’s CPI represents a battle, but the war against inflation continues.”
The BLS report suggests that inflation may be normalizing, but experts remain cautious, acknowledging that the battle against inflation is ongoing.
