The United States has announced the imposition of sanctions on three Chinese companies on Friday, alleging their involvement in providing materials for Pakistan’s ballistic missile program.
General Technology Limited, Beijing Luo Luo Technology Development Co Ltd, and Changzhou Utek Composite Company Ltd were named in the State Department’s statement.
According to the statement, General Technology was involved in the supply of brazing materials for ballistic missile rocket engines, while Beijing Luo Luo had supplied machinery for solid-propellant rocket motor production. Changzhou Utek Composite had reportedly provided materials like D-glass fiber, quartz fabric, and high silica cloth, all with applications in missile systems.
The Chinese embassy in Washington and Changzhou Utek Composite did not immediately respond to requests for comment, while the other two firms were also unavailable for immediate comment.
