Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate, received assurances from the governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, on Sunday that the South East will support him in the 2023 elections. Uzodinma provided the guarantee on Sunday at a meeting with the group supporting the former governor of Lagos State that was run under the auspices of The Asiwaju Group. Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, AbdulRasak Danjuma, Ibrahim Onimisi, and Muawiyah Muye all signed a statement revealing that the conference was convened to go through logistics and strategy for the South-East region in advance of the political campaign in September.
Abdullahi said TAG respects the importance Tinubu gave to Nigerian politics following his term as governor of Lagos, calling him a worthy man who should be supported to bring about constructive changes for the nation. Uzodinma responded to his statement by praising TAG’s national reach and enormous advances.
While doing so, the governor offered to help the TAG South East Executives organize the local community in support of Tinubu.
