Nigeria music producer Samklef has joined the ongoing drama that erupted following a controversy where social media activist Vincent Otse Matins, better known as VDM, claimed that his NGO account had been hacked, siphoning N180 million, only to be later confirmed to be a prank. The revelation of this, which infuriated Nigerians, sparked outrage and sharp criticism as Samklef has added his take, filled with fire.
VDM had earlier claimed that his NGO’s account was hacked and that N180 million had been stolen. He shared the details of how the hackers were tracked to Jos with the help of the police. In a shocking twist, VDM announced that it was all a prank meant to mock Nigerians. The revelation attracted an outpour of criticism as many accused him of manipulating and deceiving them.
Reacting to the outrage, Samklef did not mince words. He referred to VDM as an opportunistic manipulator who underestimated the intelligence of Nigerians. According to Samklef, VDM’s stunt was a failed diversion, and he mocked those still defending him. “Only fools will believe a fool,” Samklef declared, adding that VDM has a pattern of targeting select individuals while avoiding others like Davido and his circle.
Samklef’s judgment is representative of many Nigerians who view this prank by VDM as not insensitive but a calculated move gone wrong. To Samklef, the year 2025 is being shaped to be “The Year of Lamentation” for people like VDM who insist on testing public patience.
