Victoria Iye, often known as Vee, a Big Brother Naija reality star, has added her voice to the ongoing discussion over artist Burna Boy’s alleged broken promise to socialite Sophia Egbueje.
In a recently leaked audio recording with her friend, Sophia alleged that Burna Boy had a one-night affair with her and failed to honour his promise of gifting her a Lamborghini.
In a video shared on her TikTok page on Saturday, Vee expressed that many Nigerian women rely financially on men.
Vee addressed the issue of transactional relationships, where some women engage in sexual activities in exchange for material gain, such as a Lamborghini.
She questioned the person who recorded the conversation and critiques the normalization of such arrangements.
Vee acknowledged that this behavior is widespread and often driven by survival, particularly in Nigeria, where many women face financial challenges.
She said, “She [Sophia Egbueje] wanted to sleep with someone in exchange for a Lamborghini.’ That’s fantastic.
“But who was the person recording the conversation? Reveal yourself. I’m so scared of the person who was instigating that conversation while recording it. That’s the devil’s friend.
“We’ve heard all we need to hear, especially from the horse’s mouth. She has revealed her situation with her own mouth.
“By next week, there will be another case of fooling. We are used to that. Everybody has their own opinion. Everybody has their views, morals on how things go.
“But this is the way things have been and that’s is how it’s always going to be. It’s demand and supply.
“Everything has become very transactional. We normalise it now and pay the price later. There’s no point of speaking down on it or speaking against it or speaking for it, it’s just the way it is.
“I feel like that beating on this subject is just a waste of time. There are always going to be men that wants to pay for sex and there are always going to be women that are willing to have the sex.
“Long shall it continue, there’s nothing we can do about that, especially in Nigeria where a lot of women are on survival mode. And it’s bringing out the worst in people. It needs to be checked.”
Hmmmm
