Renowned social media activist VeryDarkMan has addressed the seven-day ultimatum given to him for his criticism of Nigeria’s Senate President, Godswill Akpabio’s visit to the Vatican for Pope Francis’ funeral.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) had sent a letter demanding an apology from VeryDarkMan after he described Akpabio’s trip as shameful, particularly in light of the ongoing deaths across the country.
In a video shared on his social media page on Monday, VeryDarkMan responded by first issuing an apology to the victims of herdsmen attacks in various villages across Nigeria.
He stated, “First of all, I want to apologize to the people of Benue, to the people of Jos, Kwara, Enugu, Ogun, and Edo state. To the people who have been victims of insurgency and insecurity in Nigeria as a result of these irresponsible leaders that we have. Leaders with misplaced priorities that leave their own people dying in their farmlands while they travel to attend the funeral of people who didn’t even know them when they were alive, all for political reasons. Since the irresponsible leaders will not apologize, I will apologize on their behalf. People dey kpai, them dey kill hundreds of your own, una no wake up one morning una go there. President sef no get mouth give statement, una get mind dey give me 7 days.”
VeryDarkMan also challenged the government to take action within seven days, demanding that they clamp down on the ongoing herdsmen attacks in regions such as Benue, Jos, and Enugu.
